Over 100 heavily-armed Maoists on Friday attacked a base camp of Central Reserve Police Force and its Special Armed Force (SAF) inside a forest in Gaya district, sparking a heavy gunbattle.
A suspected Maoist was arrested and six others were detained for interrogation in connection with blast by ultras leading to the derailment of Bhubaneshwar-New Delhi Rajdhani express near Gaya Railway station. Deputy Inspector General (Magadh range) Anupama Nilekar told PTI that the suspect, Badri Yadav, was arrested from Paraiya police station area in Gaya district.
Hours after targeting the prestigious Rajdhani Express, armed Maoists stormed a government toll plaza in Bihar's Gaya district, killing two people and looting weapons, a top officer said on Wednesday.
The incident comes days after a mob gouged out the eyes of three young men who had snatched away a motorcycle in Nawada district of the state.
